Since I served in the USMC for 4 and a half years active duty, and 2 years active reserve between 1963 and 1970, it was a time before the military became “woke.” With the acceptance of “DADT”, homosexuality, and trans agendas, I have wondered how do chaplains, conservative ones, handle the counseling of servicemen and women who seek affirmation or advice on this lifestyle? Does the Navy and other branches dictate how they are to respond? Biblical Christianity and the Gospels give us clear direction, so it seems we must be true to our faith, rather than to the values and official agenda of our secular government. I wonder how many chaplains have voluntarily left the service, or were directed to resign, due to a refusal to comply. It seems to me that the Pentagon’s position would make the job of a chaplain difficult. Just my opinion.
